A very strange lobster thermidor!!
I have the most incorrigible sweet tooth! No matter how much I try to concentrate on making savoury pieces these days, I always seem to find myself making something sweet!
This last few days it has been Danish pastries & croissants, thanks to a commission order for trays of them...& I was actually thinking that I might get a chance to make some fish & shellfish for a change...it seems so long since I’ve had a chance (or the urge) to make non-sweet goodies that I was really looking forward to making a mini lobster thermidor...one of my favourite dishes of all time! Then the commission order for pastries came in & as I’m away from my “mini sweatshop” again for 3 weeks..babysitting again...I really had no choice but to concentrate on getting the pastries done.
At least I managed to put a little croissant prep board together which was fun to do & fill a basket with some of the left over pastries I’d made for the order.
Guess what I just had to eat once I'd completed these...the most delicious, hot buttery croissant & I have to confess that the only way to eat them is to split them open while they are still hot & fill them with butter & golden syrup. I hate to think of the calories in a croissant the way I eat it!!

Minifood have to do is good, eat the real is better!
hahahaha!! Linda! Butter in a butter croissant! tss!
I always eat my croissants with jam :D (I eat croissants at least every Sunday :P)
I have a problem with sweet miniatures too... I think they're easier to make and I always have some sweet left overs; I need to force myself to make some savories :)
Oh Stephanie...you don't know what you are missing...split your croissant, spread loads of lovely butter on it while it's warm so that it starts melting & then spread golden syrup...mmm sheer heaven!! You need a large plate underneath though to catch all the drips of butter & syrup!! :))
Lovely Linda. I love to see others who are so passionate about miniatures. Not everyone gets it you know. Yours are wonderful. Mini hugs!
That chocolat looks great with the coloured wrapping!
I know it is hard to resist the sweet things. :)
Linda, I'm a jam freak, couldn't figure some syrup on my croissants!
But the butter, well... that could be tried :D
Where do you get your croissants? From your local bakery-pastry shop?
Oh! I was outbid finally! What a pity.
I was in love with the mini croissants.
Next time I will win....
